The mill "Eyhea"

The commandery covers around ten hectares and consists of the church, hospital, barn, and mill.
The construction of the mill at L'Hôpital-Saint-Blaise dates back to medieval times.
These buildings (mill, farmhouse, and shed) were recently purchased by the municipality, which has since been working to restore them.
In 2007, a rehabilitation association helped renovate the mill's mechanism, the millrace.
Installation on a diversion millstream, dyke in perfect condition, sluice gate on the dyke, two pairs of restored millstones, two restored flying wheels.
The steps of the mill are made from pieces of broken millstones. To access the second entrance door, you had to cross the small arched bridge over the spillway of the reservoir.
A date appears on the central keystone of the arched arch above the water chamber exit: “1676.” The mill served as a home for the Errecondo family. But when the family grew to seven children, the father had to build the large house that currently stands near the mill. The two pairs of millstones, driven by two cast iron paddle wheels, continued to grind wheat and corn until the 1960s.
After World War II, the owner decided to convert the mill into a small sawmill, which remained in operation until the 1970s.
